Grove City Mosquito Spraying
The City of Grove City has begun mosquito-control fogging. Each Wednesday and Thursday from 9 p.m.-midnight, while most of the city population is indoors and mosquitoes are most active, selected neighborhoods will be sprayed. Mosquito spraying will not take place if it is raining or if the wind speed is 10 mph or greater. The chemicals used are not considered harmful to humans, however people with breathing difficulties are advised to keep their windows closed.
How can you help?
Start in your own backyard. Mosquitoes require standing water for their young to hatch and develop. Anything that holds water is a potential breeding site for mosquitoes.
· Empty containers that hold water; store them upside down or in a garage or basement.
· Change the water in wading pools weekly and store indoors when not in use.
· Empty bird baths twice weekly.
· Empty your pets’ watering dishes daily.
