Republican Run Sewer Survey
Republican Run Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) Phase 2
The City of Grove City is initiating a sanitary sewer study in the Republican Run Sewershed. This study is part of the City’s continuing program to evaluate the older sewers within its collection system, complete routine maintenance on them and ensure their efficient operation. The City of Grove City has hired Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton, & Tilton, Inc. (EMH&T) to assist in performing engineering services for the project. The field investigation to be completed includes:
• Manhole inspections
• Flow monitoring
• Smoke testing
• Cleaning and televising portions of the sanitary sewer system
• Dye testing sewers
Over the next several months, it may be necessary for representatives of EMH&T to access existing sewer utility easements to perform this work. All work is dependent upon weather. This phase includes smoke testing and manhole inspections in the Hibbs Road and Old Indian Trails area from Monday, July 26 to Friday, Sept. 3 and from Monday, Aug. 16 to Friday, Oct. 8 in the area north of White Road and the Ohio Auto Auction. CCTV inspections are scheduled from Tuesday, Sept. 7 to Friday, Oct. 8.
These existing sanitary sewer easements may be located in backyards, side yards and alleyways. EMH&T will notify residents within the immediate work area by posting door hangers prior to the initiation of the work. It may be necessary to access some sanitary sewers and manholes via private property. The contractor will try to minimize any impacts to private property and will not access private property without first notifying the homeowner. Workers will not need to enter homes at any time. This notice is given pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 163.03.
If you have any questions regarding this work, please contact Marcia Bland of EMH&T at 614-775-4237 or the City of Grove City Service Director Sharon Reichard at 614-277-1100. Your cooperation during this project is greatly appreciated.
